after reading the various articles about library 2.0- especially dr. schultz's take on the subject- i find that i have a BIG problem with the whole concept of what i would call artificial life or virtual reality. these concepts encourage people to spend their lives on computers and develop artificial personalities and lives---- it discourages socialization in the REAL world- and it is a big world out there. i know that it is sometimes easier not to have to be part of the real world- but in order to function a person needs to have social skills, in addition to computer skills--
i don't think that librarians are going to be obsolete, we do need to adapt to the world of computers- but not live in them....
